2024 - A New Direction
Since the beginning of Wiild, we have been known for our sports content. We ran around with the camera, and caught the most intense moments of different sports. This resulted in our cooperation with brands like Red Bull and different sports teams worldwide. While 2023 was a transition away from these24 has proven Wiild to be a very different photography and video provider, not only in Oslo, Norway, but also internationally.
Video production is a wide term and doesn’t say anything about what you are making. It can be everything from a one-take with your phone to a full-scale Hollywood production with Brad Pitt as the main character. For a very long time Oslo clients would reach out to Wiild Studio for after movies or recaps of events. Whether that was sports, concerts or a conference. These productions did not demand anything else than one person, one camera, and sometimes, a simple microphone on top of the camera. But these requests were less frequent in 2024.
In 2023, Wiild established its reputation as a more high-end production studio, promising excellent sound, lighting, storytelling, and film quality. The quality of the productions went up, the value of the deliverables got higher, and different clients started reaching out for those productions. Aiming for more of a Netflix documentary style, we quickly saw a change in our films, client group and project size.
We have implemented this in our business model as documentaries are becoming increasingly unique marketing methods. We see that companies and brands benefit from having their or their employees' stories portrayed through a documentary. This brings out the emotions of the viewer, and even used internally, this can serve a great value to the company, its culture and its employees. This has been the biggest realization so far this year.
New clients, new projects and international collaborations
In January a new partnership was established when Wallenius Wilhelmsen asked for our services. We were challenged when asked to make a Carpool Karaoke production within a few days. A project like this normally consists of a crew, a second car, and much tech. In this case, it was a one-man band production, with our filmmaker controlling everything from the backseat of the car. Although this was a challenge, the video itself resulted in a very happy client, and this led to several projects in Q1.
Building on that, we produced a short documentary for them in April with the help of talented DOPs in LA, Chicago, and Oslo. This was the first time we used freelancers in the state, and the results were amazing. You can watch the full video below:
2024 brought another client, a brand you probably have heard about and maybe even worn. Helly Hansen is one of the biggest clothing brands in Norway, and it's very cool that they trusted Wiild and our services to show some of their upcoming collection. As this collection currently isn't launched, we can't share any of the content we made.
In addition to Helly Hansen and Wallenius WIlhelmsen, Wiild has delivered content to Pepsi, Caja, TikTok, Protector Insurance, DRIVE, Aker Solutions, Recharge Health, Los & Co, Le Pacte and Boys of Europe so far in 2024.
Client returns five years later
In 2019 Kristian worked with Boys of Europe, and they were one of his first paying clients. It was a full circle moment when they reached out in 2024 and asked if Wiild could do a campaign on their jeans. A full day in the locker room with hockey players resulted in what you can see below.
This sums up the highlights of the first half of 2024 for Wiild Studio. With a growth of 37,6% in 2022 and 51,3% in 2023, more pressure has been put on 2024. Still, it looks like we will have growth this year too. We do appreciate and are grateful that we are able to grow when we see businesses spending less money on content creation these days.
